Renaissance Credit starts to collect biometric data at all its branches

2 August 2019

Renaissance Credit has completed ahead of schedule the project of implementation of the Unified Biometric System (UBS) at all its branches. Now the service is available at 133 branches located in 62 regions of Russia.

In order to submit the biometric data, a citizen of the Russian Federations needs: to register on the portal of state services, attend any branch of the bank with a passport and personal insurance policy number, become a client of the bank if he or she is not yet the one. After the client has signed the agreement on collection of biometric data, the bank records his or her voice sample (the client reads a short text) and takes a photograph. The data are then uploaded to the UBS. After a certain period of time the client receives a message confirming the fact of creation of his or her biometric profile.

Comment by Alexey Gribkov, Executive Director, Head of Department for Development of Distance Services and Promotion of Banking Products at Renaissance Credit: “We are glad we can provide our clients with an opportunity to submit their biometric data. After that can obtain any banking product from a distance. This service simplifies the process of interaction with the financial institution and makes it even more convenient.”

Rostelecom company acts as the UBS operator responsible for collection, processing and storage of biometric data, as well as verification of their correspondence to the originally submitted sample.
